The Kings Arms

Located right on the banks of the river Ouse, close to Ouse Bridge, the Kings Arms is over 300 years old and serves an excellent range of Sam Smith's liquid refreshments.

Perhaps most famous in recent times as the 'pub that floods', the interior offers many detailed reminders of their regular sojourns beneath the water level.

Despite attracting a diverse range of drinkers, including tourists and students in abundance, it remains very much a York 'local'. With original flagstones, exposed brickwork, log fires and exposed beams, it is traditional without the least pretention.
