Rook and Gaskill

The Rook and Gaskill Inn opened in 2002 after former pub The Queen was converted and refurbished, and went on to win the prestigious York CAMRA Pub of the Year 2005. With a friendly team of staff who are more than willing to help you to make an educated choice from the wide selection of guest beers, you will be made to feel at home straight away.

Situated just outside the ancient walls of York, the Rook and Gaskill Inn commemorates two unfortunates hanged in the 17th Century - the last two victims of the St. Leonard’s gallows.

In 2005 the Rook and Gaskill Inn became the first North Yorkshire public house to join the Castle Rock brewery estate.
