Four High Petergate

Four High Petergate is a luxurious restaurant with rooms nestled inside a beautifully converted 18th century townhouse in the wake of York Minster. The elegant period property is actually built into part of the ancient city walls known as Bootham Bar, making Four High Petergate a living part of the history of York.

In terms of cuisine, Four High Petergate prides itself on serving a selection of lavish dishes, predominantly British influenced with a twist. Dishes like slow roast belly pork with rhubarb and vanilla jus, tournedo of guinea fowl and baby spinach with fondant potato, and fillet of cod in pine nut crust with parsnip and balsamic baby beets.

All of the meat, game, fish and vegetables served at Four High Petergate are sourced locally, direct from North Yorkshire farmers and the North East coastline.

In addition to its hearty, ethical cuisine, the restaurant is also well known for its lovely garden which offers one of the finest views of the Minster anywhere in York. It’s a fine place to enjoy a pre-theatre aperitif or a decadent afternoon tea.

Four High Petergate serves delicious breakfasts, brunches, lunches, afternoon teas, and dinners. They also now offer pre-theatre suppers.
