York Brewery
Take a Tour
Just a
few minutes’ walk from the railway station, York Brewery is a working brewery
that offers day-time tours, ale-tasting and evening party tours.
Established in
1996, it provides traditionally brewed ales to customers both locally, nationally
and internationally. The building consists of a 20-barrel brew plant, five 20
barrel fermenters and 10 conditioning tanks, which can be viewed by visitors from
the purpose-built gallery surrounding the brew house.
Conference Facilities
During
the tour, visitors are invited to see, smell and even taste some of the finest
cask-conditioned ales. For those who are interested in hiring a fun and unique
conference venue, the brewery offers meeting and function rooms, as well as
half price brewery tours for delegates.
Prop Up the Bar
After your
guided tour, you are welcome to peruse the Visitor Centre, which includes a spacious
bar and a shop which sells a selection of brewery merchandise. Here, ale
enthusiasts can purchase York Brewery home brew kits, as well as the 5
different bottle brands brewed onsite.
